What this site stores

One item, in your browser's localStorage, called mes-theme. It records whether you chose the light or dark appearance using the toggle in the top bar, so that your choice survives to the next page. It contains the word "light" or "dark" and nothing else.

It stays on your device, is never transmitted to us, and is not readable by any other website. Clearing your browser data removes it, and the site works perfectly well without it.

What this site does not do

• No analytics cookies. We do not run Google Analytics or any equivalent.
• No advertising or retargeting pixels. You will not be followed around the internet by an advert for mailboxes.
• No social media trackers or embedded third-party widgets.
• No fingerprinting, session recording or heat mapping.
• No consent banner, because under PECR none is required for storage that is strictly functional and user-initiated.

Third-party requests

Web fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com. Google receives your IP address as part of that request. No cookie is set by those requests. If you would prefer this not to happen at all, tell us — we hold self-hosted copies of the fonts and can switch the site over.

The control panel and webmail

This policy covers the marketing website only. The SolidCP control panel and Outlook Web App are separate applications that necessarily set session cookies to keep you signed in. Those are strictly necessary for the service to function.
